Make sure you’re using a TLS 1.2 enabled browser before 3rd April 2019

We’re making an important change to protect the online security of all Bankline users.

As of 3rd April 2019, web browsers that don’t have the security protocol TLS 1.2 (or above) will no longer be compatible with Bankline.

We’ve spotted that in the last four months you’ve logged into Bankline on a browser without TLS 1.2.

This may be a browser on your normal computer, or it may be that you’ve used a different work station where the browser needs upgrading.

What you need to do

Please follow the steps below. If you prefer, just click the Log in button on this page, open a webchat and type ‘TLS Support’. Cora, our digital assistant, will guide you through the process.

If you can’t complete these actions, you should contact the person responsible for IT in your business or talk to your Bankline administrator as soon as possible.

1:  Check if you’re using an out-of-date browser and upgrade

The following browser versions (and older) don’t support TLS 1.2:

  • Internet Explorer 9
  • Firefox 23
  • Chrome 29
  • Safari 6

If you’re using one of these you’ll need to upgrade to a more recent version. You can find the links to do this here:

Internet Explorer          Safari               Chrome                           Firefox

(If you have access to Windows 10, you can also choose to upgrade to Edge, which has TLS 1.2 automatically set.)

2: Check that TLS 1.2 is enabled

Some recent browser versions have TLS 1.2 set automatically, but some need you to enable it manually. If you’re using Internet Explorer 10, for example, you’ll need to enable manually,

Please follow the steps below for checking and enabling TLS 1.2 in your browser:

Internet Explorer              Edge            Chrome             Firefox
