How do I clear my temporary internet files and cookies?

A:

 To ensure you're viewing the most up to date version of a web page, you may need to clear your temporary internet files and cookies. For example, if a page isn't displaying correctly this could be due to older information that's been stored in cookies. 

To clear your temporary internet files and cookies follow the instructions for the internet browser you're using. If you need further guidance refer to your browser support pages.

Google Chrome

  1. Select the three dots icon in the top right corner and then click 'More tools'
  2. Click 'Clear browsing data'
  3. Change the time range to 'All time' and click 'Clear data'

Alternatively, holding down the keys Ctrl + Shift + Delete (PC) or Command + Shift + Delete (MAC) will open the 'Clear browsing data' window.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Click the three dots in the top right corner of the browser and click 'Settings'
  2. Click 'Privacy, search and services'
  3. Under 'Clear browsing data' select 'Choose what to clear'
  4. Choose a time range and select 'Cookies and other site data' and 'Cached images and files'
  5. Click 'Clear now'

Internet Explorer

  1. Select the cog symbol in the top right corner of the browser
  2. Select 'Safety' then 'Delete browsing history'
  3. In the 'Delete Browsing History' window that opens ensure 'Cookies' and 'Temporary Internet files' are ticked and press 'Delete'

  1. Select the three lines icon in the top right corner, then 'History' and then 'Clear Recent History'
  2. In the 'Clear All History' window that opens change the 'Time range to clear' drop down menu to 'Everything'
  3. Select 'Details' if the options of what to delete aren't showing
  4. Ensure 'Cookies' and 'Cache' are ticked and press 'Clear Now'

Alternatively, holding down the keys Ctrl + Shift + Delete (PC) or Command + Shift + Delete (MAC) will open the 'Clear All History' window.
