Q:

What is an international payment?

A:

An international payment is a payment made within the UK in a currency other than GBP, or a payment to a beneficiary outside the UK, in GBP or a foreign currency.

International payments:

  • May require a foreign exchange deal (this will be done automatically if you don’t have a foreign exchange facility with us)
  • Can be standard or urgent priority.

You can also use the international payment function to request a ‘Foreign Draft’ to be sent to your statement address, which you can then forward on to you beneficiary.

Care should be taken when keying international payments to ensure all information is provided and account names and numbers are correct to avoid any delays to your payment.
