A:

No, Smartcard authorisation is used for many administrative changes, but not all of them.

You'll need it for:

  • Assigning a role to a user with a padlock next to it.

  • Amending the details of a user (edit user from 'Manage users' screen).

  • Creating users where you're assigning a role with a padlock.

  • Amending any information on the 'Customer details' tab (apart from 'Dual administration' changes).

    • Box one 'Customer Details'.
    • Box two 'Payment Preferences'.

    • Box three 'Payment Limits'.
