When a payment is due to come in on a Monday why does the balance no longer show as increased on the Saturday?

A:

From 13 January 2018, we’ve changed the way we process these types of payments. The account balance is now increased on the Monday, or the next working day after a bank holiday rather than the Saturday. 

It’s worth considering whether this affects your approach to having sufficient funds in your accounts to cover any scheduled transactions, to make sure payments go out on time and unnecessary charges are avoided.
